9:15 am to 11:30 am: Volunteers depart the meeting point with their supply bags and head to their access site(s) to help clean up trash. There will be designated drop points (TBD) for each bag of trash depending upon your location.

12:00 pm to 2:00 pm: Volunteers are welcome to join us at Ames Farm Inn (2800 Lake Shore Road, Gilford) for the after party with free food and a raffle! We kindly request no pets at the after party.

You can call or text the LWA Hotline at 603-619-8703 with questions on the day of the event.

Safety Guidelines

Volunteering for a trash cleanup event is a rewarding and fun experience for all ages, but there are some safety rules and guidelines that everyone should follow to make this event safe and enjoyable for everyone involved. Ticks are most active in the spring, but can be found in Fall too! Consider bringing bug spray, wearing appropriate clothing (light-colored/long shirts/pants), and most importantly make sure you do a “tick-check” as soon as you are home!

DO be prepared to participate safely:

  • Wear a safety vest (if you have one and are in a high-traffic area)
  • Wear closed-toe shoes
  • Bring a litter/trash grabber (if you have one)
  • Bring a phone or camera to document what you clean up!
  • Share to Facebook/Instagram with the hashtag #2024WinniCleanUp

DO NOT pick up hazardous items such as:

  • Weapons
  • Broken Glass
  • Closed or sealed buckets/drums
  • Medical waste (hazard bags, needles, etc.)
  • Dead animals
  • ANYTHING that you feel unsafe or uncomfortable handling
